Library Of Lost Dollhouses - Elise Hooper

Historical Fiction

Rating: 8.5/10

Who would have thought a tale of the secrets behind some long-forgotten dollhouses would be a page turner? Not me that’s for sure. I was happily proven wrong.

Tildy, a head librarian of a private archival collection that is facing financial struggles, discovers two stunning dollhouses in a secret room. Full of artistically brilliant and intricately crafted miniatures, she wonders if these might be the salvation of the library. She soon embarks on a journey that brings to the surface unexpected secrets about not only the artist, but her own family.

The story moves back and forth in time between Tildy and the artist Cora. An artist that used her talent to help keep other women’s secrets, making miniatures that document it all. Accomplishments, betrayals and forbidden loves.

A delightful and enchanting read that expertly blends history and art.

Footnote: After finishing this read, I find myself longing to create a dollhouse. All those intricate pieces and special touches…
